Welcome
A letter from President & CEO
Michael K. Powell
As the year marches quickly to a close, our country faces a consequential election and potential sea change in Washington, D.C. However, despite potential political turmoil, I remain confident and assured that our industry is deeply committed to delivering the cutting-edge services and world’s best entertainment that American consumers rely on.
I am always proud of the work our industry does every day, including:
- Broadband providers continue to upgrade and enhance – and connect even more families to – the most important infrastructure of our time.
- TV companies have created even more captivating programming while finding new ways for consumers to experience entertainment.
- NCTA member companies have made a positive impact on the communities and people they serve and the places their employees live.
As always, the year has brought a few changes at NCTA. We welcomed new board members and two new senior staff members, enriching our organization with fresh insights and new energy. The Walter Kaitz Foundation also transitioned to be fully integrated into the NCTA Education Foundation. With this integration, the Foundation's mission to educate and connect communities we serve will be further enhanced by the industry's long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The Foundation will continue the former Kaitz Foundation’s grant-making programs and host the annual Kaitz Dinner.
Looking ahead to 2025, the new year will bring both a new Administration and Congress. This is a prime opportunity to introduce our industry to new stakeholders and highlight how we are a vital element of America’s economy and future. To strengthen NCTA, we are updating our organization's strategic plan to reflect the outcome of the election and the issues we face. This will be a refreshed roadmap for our organization, defining a long-term vision and objectives. It will guide our focus in the years ahead.
Thank you for your continued trust, support, and faith in the NCTA team. It is only by working together that we can bolster and better our industry, both in Washington and throughout our country.
The following pages showcase the key issues and initiatives at the core of our focus. Together, I hope we will continue to surpass expectations and cultivate the future of connectivity.
